In conjunction with the CT Recreation and Parks Association, The American Red Cross and the Pool Safely Campaign, Bristol Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting its first annual Water Safety event on Tuesday, May 14th from 4-6pm. The event will occur at the Dennis Malone Aquatic Center. Admission is FREE of charge and open to the public. The event will feature games and activities focused on water safety, compression-only CPR instruction, how to use an AED, basic first aid, and basic rescue skills that can be done as a bystander. Participants will receive education on water safety and how to help someone in trouble. Participants will be encouraged to sign pledge cards at the event to commit to being safe around water and to designate a "water watcher" during any activities that involve water. There will be pizza, prizes, and fun giveaways. Registration is required for the event so that we can plan accordingly. Just Announced: KONA Ice Truck will be serving shaved ice in all sizes and colors. Prices for shaved ice will range from $3-$5.
